Who We Are

"The tongue exists to reveal our heart."

John Calvin

The Five Solas

The Convictions That Guide Our Faith and Practice at Finger Lakes Reformed Church

Sola Scriptura

Scripture Alone

We believe that the Bible is the supreme authority for faith and practice. All man-made traditions, teachings, and governance are subordinate to Scripture. The Word of God guides us through this temporal life and leads us to eternal life.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness."

2 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)

Sola Fide

Faith Alone

We believe that justification — being made right with God — comes only through faith in Christ alone, not by any works of man. Good works are a result of faith and are not a means to earn salvation.

"For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law."

Romans 3:28 (ESV)

Sola Gratia

Grace Alone

We believe that salvation is a gift from God given by His grace alone. It is not earned or deserved. Mankind cannot contribute to their salvation. Our salvation is entirely the work of God's unmerited favor toward sinners.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."

Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)

Solus Christus

Christ Alone

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and mankind, and that salvation is through Him alone. We do not pray to Mary, saints, or relics. They cannot add to or replace the redemptive work of Christ. Jesus Christ is our sole Advocate before God.

"For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

1 Timothy 2:5 (ESV)

Soli Deo Gloria

To God Alone Be the Glory

We believe that all life and salvation exist for the glory of God alone. No matter what great things we create — whether science, medicine, music, or works of craft — they should never be boasted in, for they are gifts from God. All that we do should point to His majesty and grace.

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)

Community and Mission

Our Community

Life Together at Finger Lakes Reformed Church

The community at Finger Lakes Reformed Church is one in which believers are called to have fellowship with one another, to live in unity, supporting and encouraging one another in the grace of Jesus Christ. Here you will experience genuine love and accountability rooted in the Word of God. We gather weekly on the Lord's Day to worship, pray, and celebrate the sacraments, which are a vital element of the Church's communal life.

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."

Acts 2:42 (ESV)

Discipleship

Spiritual Growth and the Word of God

At Finger Lakes Reformed Church, spiritual growth is nurtured through a deep commitment to the Word of God. Each Sunday, Pastor Jim Peck preaches expository, verse-by-verse messages through one book of the Bible at a time, helping the congregation become thoroughly rooted in Scripture.

Midweek opportunities for growth include our Wednesday evening Bible study hosted at the Owasco Campus in Auburn, and our Thursday Night Prayer Meeting via Zoom. Email Pastor Jim at pastor@sharonreformed.org for the Zoom link.

Discipleship at Finger Lakes Reformed Church is not just about information. It is about transformation. Through faithful teaching, honest conversation, and mutual accountability, we encourage one another to grow in Christlikeness.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God."

Colossians 3:16 (ESV)

Identity

Who We Are

We are a Christ-centered congregation rooted in the Gospel, committed to serving our neighbors, and walking together in grace and truth. Whether you are from Skaneateles, Auburn, Owasco, Marcellus, Camillus, Elbridge, or anywhere across Onondaga County and Cayuga County, you will find a church family here that is serious about Scripture, joyful in worship, and growing together in love.

We would be honored to have you join us. There is a place for you at Finger Lakes Reformed Church.

Pastoral Care

Service and Care from the Body of Christ

You will experience genuine service and care from the body of Christ at Finger Lakes Reformed Church. The Church serves its members by meeting their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. When someone in our community is sick, hurting, or in need of prayer, you can count on the brothers and sisters of Finger Lakes Reformed Church to walk beside you and share that burden, reflecting Christ's love and compassion for others.

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Galatians 6:2 (ESV)

Why We Exist

Our Mission

The primary mission of Finger Lakes Reformed Church is to proclaim the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to make disciples of all nations, beginning with the communities of Skaneateles and the greater Finger Lakes region and spreading outward from there. We recognize that we live in an under-churched region of the United States, and that the mission field begins right outside our doors.

It is our aim to bring evangelism and missions outside the church walls so that all will hear the message of salvation. We are not content to keep the Gospel within these four walls. Christ has commissioned His Church to go.

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)

Finger Lakes Reformed Church is called to demonstrate God's Kingdom by reflecting His justice, mercy, and love, living as a light in the Finger Lakes. We seek to address the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of our neighbors, pointing others to Christ through both our actions and our words.

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

Matthew 5:16 (ESV)

Come and grow with us. To God alone be the glory.

"A dog barks when his master is attacked. I would be a coward if I saw that God's truth is attacked and yet would remain silent."

In October 2024, Pastor Jim Peck was called to serve as the Senior Pastor of Sharon Reformed Church in Sharon Springs, NY. On December 14, 2025, he launched Finger Lakes Reformed Church in Skaneateles, NY as a second campus, extending the same confessional Reformed witness into the greater Finger Lakes region.
